According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), car insurance costs are up 18.6% compared to a year ago and premiums are nearly 47% higher than at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020. As insurance companies have to pay out more expensive claims, consumer rates are increasing.
